Airbrushing models and celebs is bad enough in normal cases, but look at this photo of a new celeb mother with her week old baby (and why is this girl a celeb anyway?). This is just criminal. Can you imagine how many new mothers who may have viewed the photochopped picture and wondered what they are doing wrong?

Um, those don't look like the same photos. The angles of the neck, arms and torso are all different, as are the baby's hands.

That is irrelevant. Do you think she lost 40 pounds in less than a minute? Those photos were taken in the same sitting. They changed the color of her dress.

Its a different photo all together. She had the pic taken to show how much the mag photo was brushed

Im gonna sound like an old person, but I think we have tipped the edge of sanity as far as technology is concerned, I think the 80s was about right and we are far to close to the total recall world proposed by king for my taste.

The point is, the magazine cover is completely unrealistic and deceiving. To an average woman whose body was destroyed by recent childbirth, a photo like that just makes her feel like shit. It's already a rough time with hormones wacked out and trying to find a balance again.

That's the same photo. You can adjust angles and fill in "missing" information in a picture in Photoshop. I'd say easily, but it's an art to make it look good.

It took my wife about 2 months to get back to pre-baby weight. She NEVER works out and eats like crap - but after our second child, she ate salads and even bought a treadmill (and used it)! She's genetically gifted, in that it probably would have fallen off her in 6 months or so, but even with her dedication it still took around 2 months.

In the picture above, it really just looks like they chopped off her belly. Not a lot of touchup around the neck/face - she doesn't seem to have gained that typical preggo face.

I dropped my weight pretty quick too, mainly because we couldn't afford food. But I didn't look like a super model a week after giving birth. It takes time for your body to snap back no matter how much you exercise and watch what you eat.

I guess there's people who haven't been through it that wouldn't even think about how the stretched out belly doesn't just magically bounce back.

To be honest, Shannon still looked pregnant for about a week or two after giving birth.

Exactly, and that's normal. To people who know better, the magazine cover above makes it look like she's the doting aunt, not the mother.
