Speaking Of Rings

So I'm on hour 22 without sleep and I was reading the WTH thread and suddenly I hit this moment of rapid lucidity that's gotten me all hyper and I remembered ah-ha! I used to have a girlfriend at one point. And I might someday again!

So the question that pops up in my mind is I know nothing about rings. There are apparently ring sizes? So I'm like oh noes, what if I see a cute little ring or something I want to get her and don't know her ring size.

So I gotsta ask for the future Mrs. Gypsy, how'd you figure out your ring size? Do you know what it actually is? Did you go to a jeweler or something and ask them to measure your finger or something? Is it like a whole number or are their like halves or something crazy?

I'm a guy. I know nothing!

I know my hands are huge for a woman. It's one of the things I don't care to know. I've got my wedding/engagement ring and no other. I have no idea what size the average woman is.

GO to a jeweler, they have sizing rings and you just try 'em on until you find the one that fits.

I think my gf is 5 and 3/4s... but really really can't remember. Need to go back and find out again.

2 choices you can ask her Mother and if Moms likes you, your now elevated to prince

Or you can be sneaky and look her other rings, every now and again they'll have the size stamped in them that's how I figured it out for ally's engagement ring

edit: or you could take one to a jeweler while she's at work, and ask scusse me but wtf size is this?

Last I knew, my ring size is a 5 1/2. I have fairly large hands but my ring size doesn't seem all that big.

My wife is super tiny (5'5" 105 lbs) and she has long, thin fingers... she's a 4.5, so that doesn't seem excessively large to me. Now sausage fingers over there... >>>

There were some bands I tried on at the jeweler, they were bigger than my thumb. Insanely large, like Incredible Hulk. I finally knew who used those giant pink balls at the bowling alley.
