Do fingers gain weight too?

I can't find my darn ring sizer anywhere. I had one from my 10th anniversary of date of hire at work (we get to choose a gift from a catalog on 1, 5, 10, 15, 20th etc anniversaries, and it comes with a ring sizer in case you choose one of the rings as your gift). And I misplaced the last one I got.

When I got my wedding ring sized, I think it was 7 or 7 1/4, but when I measure my finger now with a cloth tape measure, it's about 2 1/4" to 2/12", which translates to anywhere from a size 8 to a 10 1/2, and I know that's not right!

When my friend Miki joined the army, the first thing I noticed about her when I saw her again when she was home on leave from Iraq was that her fingers were actually muscular!

Mine are just fat I guess. But I still have the same ring on, that's been there for 13 years. I guess I must be gaining weight around it.

The question is, can you remove that ring that's been on 13 years? I recently had a lot of trouble getting one off I've been wearing almost 20. I felt I had to because it was actually starting to be uncomfortable, so I'd say yes, your fingers can get fatter. I should try that damn thing on again though. I've lost almost 20 pounds in the last couple of months. Maybe it fits again now.

Uh-oh, I can't get it off. I just took it off to clean it a few months ago. Maybe I should try again in the morning when the air kick on at 6am and freezes me like it always does.
