Is it possible to "teach" someone how to get over insecurity?

Hell, I got tired of being questioned about cheating. So I just quite denying it, and agreed to everything she accused me of (which I didn't do, of course). Drove her nucking futs!

(Ok, so she already was nucking futs, but this still pissed her off, and was quite fun.)

Nope. But didn't make the sex life any worse. And I got a good laugh. So it was a net positive.

Hell no. And I don't think anyone can change anyone else, nor is right or good to try, really.

People CAN change, but it's usually because they matured, or sometimes because they realized a change was necessary and wanted to better themselves. But if you don't change for yourself, because you want to, you never really will.

I don't believe in making people do things they don't want to do. I am a horrible salesperson.

I've got a great wife. Docile and timid, no; women like that make me crazy. In college I dated a woman for a while who was bi, and the biggest problem was that she liked women who were docile and timid, and so I could never stand her girlfriends. People who don't have a solid identity of their own give me the heebie-jeebies.

And I've got a lot of good friends who are fine women and not "gold-digging control freaks" either. And they seem to have a lot of trouble finding good men who aren't insecure and afraid of either commitment and/or afraid of women who aren't docile and timid.

That is my experience, as well. Changing our own behavior has to come out of WANTING to change, not because our S/O desires a change. Kind of like quitting smoking ( I quit 15 years ago).

* They never care what their horoscope, their mother-in-law, nor the neighbors say.

* They rarely lie about their age, their weight, or their clothing size.

* How awestruck they are in the face of a homemade cookie.

* How great their hands look holding ours.

* Their face is a treasure to behold when they give us a present they picked out.

* Their ignorance is usually amusing.

* They give great hugs, (and always melt our hearts when a sweet "I love you honey," is added)

* Though they often try to hide it, they're very tenderhearted and caring.

* They have an uncanny ability to look deeply into our eyes and connect with our heart, even when we don't want them to.

* They don't care whether colors match, but are willing to be concerned if we want them to be.

* They give us a peek at the little boy inside when they get sick or happy or hurt.
