A suggestion for vBSEO configuration

I noticed the vBSEO configuration shows the title of the forum in the thread URL. While good from a member perspective, if you look at the URL and it shows you which forum you're in, it can be bad from a SEO perspective because if a thread move happens after it's been crawled, the URL that the search engine has indexed is incorrect. It doesn't happen often, but it leaves dead links from search engines and may be frustrating, or dissatisfying from a potential member aspect, and could cause them to disregard the site and continue on to a competitive site, versus registering here.

I would personally set the thread URLs to: [thread_id]-[thread_title].html
instead of the current: [forum_title]/[thread_id]-[thread_title].html

That way, if a thread is moved about the site, from forum to forum, the URL is absolute, so it never changes either here, or with Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc.

Yeah, it's just not part of my job description. I don't know if we want to change it, or just never thought of it. I need to check with the others and see what they think.

It's really not a big deal if it stays as-is, but thread URLs get broken on the search engines, if they get moved to another forum. I think the mods should just be really heavy handed and ban people for posting in the wrong sections. It'll solve that problem and the admins won't have to change a thing.
