Danica Patrick to race Nascar in 2010

Another case of failure being rewarded. She has had a so so career in open wheel racing. She has won 1 race in how many years? But yet the trumpets are blowing and the talking heads are praising her coming to nascrap.

Suppose your doctor had a mediocre career doing surgery and he/she left/was encouraged to leave their post at a big name hospital to work in a lower tier facility, would you rush out to schedule your surgery with them?

You think maybe Danica is joining nascrap because her ride was running out in open wheel cause she wasn't putting her sponsors' silks on the podium?

You make it sound like it's no big deal to win just ONE race...Come race CCS sometime and see if you can even get close to the podium in a series filled with a bunch of amateur weekend warrior riders...

Then go against the best riders in the world and let me know how it works out for ya...

As for her stats and career, I'd say she has one of the most secure jobs out there...

--She's the only woman EVER to win an IRL race
-- Every year she has raced, she's done better
--She has finished in the top 10 each of the last 4 years, moving up every single year she raced, all the way to the a 5th place finish last year...

All this in a sport comprised of 99.9% men...Many of those men she races against can't hold her jock strap, so to speak, and they are some of the best racers in the entire world...

So to sum up, I'm not sure what failure you're talking about...She's done nothing but succeed...

Thats what I was saying. She has constantly gotten better and if she were a he she'd be considered a pretty good prospect. Not everyone can be a constant winner, there are tons of drivers who simply have mediocre careers yet no one goes on a crusade to call them out.

I was drag racing NHRA, winning races in the gasser class, competing and beating the likes of Buddy Ingersoll and Jim Weibold and competing at the US Nationals over Labor Day weekend in the 1970's and early '80's...before Danica, and prolly you were born. I have racing trophies dating back to the 1960's...how 'bout yerself???

My rebuttal is to you because I have competed against the best in the big leagues. Tell me a bigger drag racing series than NHRA. You challenged me to come out and participate in the cup series to see how well I would do, I have raced in the big leagues and had a small amount of success.

Be careful when you call people out and disrespect their opinions when you don't know anything about them
