My husband and I like to take a trip on the motorcycles every year for our anniversary in May (around Memorial Day weekend). This year, we've decided that our general destination will be North Georgia.
What I'm looking for is advice anyone can give on the area: best roads to hit, must-see sites, places to avoid, where to stay, etc. About the only thing I *know* we want to do while we're there is make another trip to Deal's Gap ... which should be no problem as it's relatively close to the GA line. So yeah, once we have some feedback we can take a look at all the suggestions on the map and come up with a plan of attack. Thanks in advance for the input!

Yea, we've heard a lot about the Suches area and I think that's where my hubby is leaning on staying. But we haven't completely decided if we'll be staying with family, camping, or getting a cabin when we go. I figure it will end up being a combination of all the above. And while we've got awhile to get it all figured out, I'm a little OCD and like to plan things early...especially with it being Memorial Day weekend in case we end up wanting to rent a cabin, I want to make sure we get it rented early!

I reserved the cabin we stayed at in Suches last Memorial Day weekend 9 months in advance.

Yes, I'm an early planner and can't stand that our entire trip is planned out. But this is the one vacation each year I leave more up to my husband to plan out (he just seems to be much better and planning the routes and all that good stuff than I am). I'm actually starting to stress that he's just now beginning to think about planning it, so I'm trying to help him out and speed things up as quickly as I can. I'd prefer to camp over staying in a cabin, purely to save costs since these trips are pretty much spent on the bikes and we just need a place to sleep at night. Even better, I'm hoping we can work it out to where we're staying with family/friends each night!

<<< early planner too. It's the only way I can make sure I budget everything and save the proper fundage.
