It's a BMW piece made for the bike. The underside is molded to the shape of the passenger seat, so it sits on there very solidly; then there are two nylon loops that are already present under the seat that you flip out and attach straps to.

The tankbag has a special aluminum platform that mounts permanently to the tank cover; then the bag slides on and snaps into place.

I'm sure Kawasaki is doing something similar for the Z1000.

I'm more concerned about what will fit my 750 right now. It's going to be a while before I can get another bike.

I like the front and tail but that tank is terrible

How do you like the bimmer or beemer I forget which refers to cars...
