My husband and I are taking our first trip on the motorcycles where we won't be staying at a relative's house. I saw the Sport Touring 101 thread and while we'd thought about some of those things, some of those things we hadn't thought about, so we've now got those on the list. Also, we've never been to Arkansas, so if you can help out by providing any campgrounds that are good to stay in or roads that are good, places to see, etc. We're still working on mapping out the route depending on what information we are provided with as far as must see places, but it looks like we'll at least be staying in Hot Springs the first night. We only have four days for the trip and we're heading out from Jackson, MS. Anyway, any information you could provide about Arkansas or taking trips on the bikes would be much appreciated!

Ping Melissa. She actually did the Arkansas trip last year.
I'll be paying attention too, because I am probably going in late October.

PING, I'm here..
Pushmountain is the place to go. Google Maps Salesville, Arkansas is where we stayed and they have cabins that are dirt cheap. Lake Norfork Resorts - Y - Cabins or 870-499-5294 Andy or Melissa Pool (owners) Your better off calling to get the reservation. 11 Hwy 177 South, Salesville, Ar 72653 It's just 5 min or so from Mountain Home, Ar. If you go to the pictures thread and find pushmountain there are pictures on there from when I went and the op. any other questions please ask..

Thanks Melissa! I'm sure I'll have more questions as we get our route finalized

Your Push Mountain google link didn't work for me so I'm adding an alternate link.
Google Maps: Push Mountain Awesome riding in the area.

I'm going to have to see if I can get my husband to post the routes we have planned out. He's actually been the one planning all of it (which has been nice) so I can't even remember where he has us staying, ha!

Well, I'd missed the previous posts suggesting Push Mountain, so that may end up in one of the routes if possible.
What I have mapped out so far certainly isn't set in stone, so if you have any input, we'd love to hear it!Day 1: Brookhaven, MS to Russellville, AR Notes: After leaving I20 the roads (mostly AR Hwy 8) look much more interesting than the Default route. Day 2: Pinnacle Mountain & Petit Jean Notes: This should be a lighter day travel-wise to allow recovery from the trip up. Both parks were noted for having good hiking. Day 3: Ferry Ride to MO & Northern Hwy 7 Notes: A free ferry ride across Bull Shoals Lake into Missouri, then over to Branson before coming back down into AR, returning on Scenic Hwy 7. Day 4: Blanchard Springs Caverns Notes: We thought some cavern tours would be fun! Day 5: Reverse a Day 1 route (possibly returning on Hwy 7). Other Optional Routes: Northern Hwy 7 / Eureka Springs Hwy 10 / Fort Smith / Fayetteville Mt Magazine to Talimina, OK Loop |

341(push mountain rd) to 14 to 125 to Peel ferry is the most amazing ride ever for Arkansas.
If you smoke get cigarettes in Missouri dirt cheap. I don't but I noticed that they are a lot cheaper than Wi prices.
