Default Campsites near Niagara Falls?

My roommate and I are planning a weekend trip to Niagara sometime late summer or early fall. I'm looking over Google Maps trying to find an adequate camping site near the falls, but everything seems to be KOA-style campgrounds, and I'm not a big fan of parking lot camping.

I prefer state parks because they are usually a little more secluded. Doesn't seem to be anything in the immediate vicinity. The closest we're going to get is on the shore of Lake Ontario at Golden Hill State Park. It's secluded, a little more remote, but it's an hour ride from the falls. Crossing over to Canada isn't an option, as I don't have my passport and don't expect to get one before the trip.

Recommendations for something closer would be super.

Edit:

Four Mile Creek State Park seems to be about 28 minutes from the falls, yet still on the shore of Lake Ontario, so that's the new destination. Still looking for something closer.

You'll see the falls in an hour. Peronally. I would go south and stay in Letchworh. Ride some good roads down there. Take the couple hour trip to the falls. Hang out for awhile and head back to the curves. BTW- the west end of letchworth is the better end for curves.
