Default Buell 1125 vs my Blackbird

A guy at work was just asking me about it. Says he wants to get just to pass me. I told him to go buy it and we'll go find an open strech of road. He seems to think that it will blow me away in a top speed run. His reasoning, it won in AMA racing. Just bring I told him. When he's ready, I'll put the 17t back on the front. Just for him.

I have no idea of the capabilites of either bike, but you seem confident

The fact that a bike won any particular race is not indicative of its top speed capabilities. Indeed, its more rider ability than bike (in a competitive race). I don't follow racing much, but I doubt that any bike is getting to its top speed on a circuit.

Racing bikes are geared for each circuit so that they just reach their possible top speed at the end of the longest straight.

The 1125R I think claims 174mph top end, but I doubt it actually gets there. Your Blackbird has a bit more power, I think, and better aeros as it was made for the high speed wars. Top speed is drag vs HP, so I'd think you have it comfortably. But he may pull you up to 140 or so.

I know someone on here that is close by. He happens to have an 1125r. Wonder if he'd be willing to give a preliminary run to the top.

It will come down to who is the best rider, the only place the superbird has an advantage is top end, which it is doubtful they will find a place to come close to achieving.

I'll race you both on my wife's 250r.

The race will be 100 yards. Who's ever in the highest gear at the 100yd mark wins

I'm guessing 4th at least on the 250r

Oh you'd be surprised where the top end can be reached around here.
