Well, Tammy sold her leathers, so she's out. I'm working on Katie though.

I don't think its going to happen until after the May Georgia trip. Jay's stator may be bad on his street bike, so that's another expense before the trip.

I hope to hit the track this summer.

Sorry Jenn and Donny.

Sorry Jenn and Donny.
Stator? Hmm..stators don't go bad as they are just a magnet that runs around the stator coil to generate electricity. Probably some of the electronics - like the voltage regulator / rectifier or ECU are going bad.

Has someone *said* his stator was bad? The stators on motorcycles - unless they need to be re-wound for more power output never fail. Other bits do.

Just my $.02

Even if I did have leathers, I can't afford a track day. I just spent all my play money & then some on my new toy. I need a sugar daddy/momma.

Donny, by the way, I finally left my bike with the dealer for a week hoping they could figure out what's going on with it. Chris McDonald (former Suzuki TSM) is general manager at the dealer I went to, and he knew exactly what I was talking about. Turns out Suzuki does know about it, there's no cure (in fact they seem to think it was designed that way), and they recommend a similar start-up sequence to the one I've been using. Difference being I have to wait for at least a minute after starting in neutral, instead of before starting. If you don't start in neutral & wait, then the ECM gets stuck in the wrong program.

And if it does happen, shifting into 5th is supposed to correct it by setting the ECM back into the right program.

It's been working for me so far. But the other day I bogged the engine by forgetting to downshift as I approached a redlight, and when I took off again after the light turned green, it started doing it again. So I popped it in neutral & turned the key off, then restarted it, and it was ok after that.

Weird, huh?

I'm very disappointed in Suzuki

You know his bike was dying on the way home from Daytona, well he replaced the battery and same thing. We did some googling and saw there has been a lot of problems with the stator Google Translate
, so we are looking into it. He also thought it could be the rectifier.
