Default Nirvana Sunday.....

Okay, so I'm lousy at stopping along my rides to take pics. Seems as though once I get on the beast, I rarely get off of it except to get gas, a candy bar, and some liquids.
But yesterday.......oh man! What a fantastic day for a ride! Started at my house on Highway 41 heading toward Morro Bay on the coast thinking it MIGHT be clear enough to go north on Highway 1- American Scenic Highway for those that don't know. Got over the hill in good enough shape and lo and behold clear skies with the fog bank off a couple of miles over clear blue ocean. Okay. Looks good to me!
Hung a right onto 1 and blasted north to Gorda. Well maybe not blasted. It was Sunday and there were many, many cars and rvs out. Also, LOTS of bikes! But on the way back, seemed like it was late enough in the day (4 pm or so) that most folks had already done the circuit. Still, plenty of passing had to be done to get past those slow moving clunkers and sightseers. Caught up to a group of three traveling sport bikers and just hung with them for the last flat 20 miles or so. Good thing too. CHP helicopter must have been pacing me because he flew past just minutes after a black and white was screaming in the other direction. I wonder if someone called me in on their cell phone! Hahaha!
Anyways, all said and done it was a 150 miler. Good time.

Okay, so I've been like dreaming about this ride I did on Sunday for the last day and a half. The reason being is that I haven't been on the beast in quite some time and it took almost 50 miles on twisties before I started getting comfortable again. I knew I was out of "conditional training" so I forced myself to relax and just concentrate on lines. Once back up to level though.....woo hoo!
So, here are some pics of awhile back on the same stretch of road taken on pretty much the same kind of day weather wise. Sorry to be bragging here.....but I live in a wonderful area for playing around!!

You know, my momma always said, "A ride in the forest is like a box of chocolates - you never know what you're gonna get around the next corner. But I'll tell you this, if its bad you're probably gonna make fudge in yer pants."
