Default Trailering my bike

My family and I are planning a cross country trip and I was wondering if there was any particular way of securing my bike on a trailer. I have the typical tie-down straps with the hooks. Are there better straps to use when tieing down a sportbike because it doesn't look like there's a good place to hook to on the front of the bike?

Thoughts or suggestions would be great. Here's the type of trailer I'm using

Use a Cycle Cinch or Canyon Dancer II (the original Canyon Dancer can damage switchgear on some bikes). They slip over your grips and give you a tiedown point on each. Then use two soft ties (just a loop of nylon strap) through the passenger peg brackets and tie the rear down lightly so it doesn't bounce around. Good to go.

Groovy

I've heard about those. I may run by the Suzuki shop and see if they've got any.

Would it be better to secure the other end of the straps to the floor or would the side rails be ok? I'm thinking of the angle of the straps. The bike will be sitting near the center of the instead of up against the front rail of the trailer.

I've had my bike on a trailer like that before and I put the front tire up against the front rail, put the bar straps on, then anchored to the corners in the front. Have that baby nose diving so it's not going to go anywhere. Then check it each time you stop in case the straps happen to stretch a little. Then like Kevin said, anchor to the passenger pegs. I'd go in a backward angle for the back.

I was afraid the rails would be too high. I understand the nosediving but not to the point of bottoming out the suspension, correct?

And install some eye hooks in the corners of the front of the trailer...You'll thank yourself later...

Don't try to "suspend" the bike in the center of the trailer with the tiedowns. Get the nose up against the front as people have said, and secure it down and forward.
