There is a chain of household appliance stores here called "Telefashion". The owner is a kid, well, he isn't a kid anymore, of a rich family. It seems to me that he might be a car/motorcycle freak, and he insists on selling bikes on his stores (he also sells cars). For some reason the guy seems to think that his bikes are worth too much money, all of his bikes are overpriced, the new-ish ones going for as much as they sold new. Obviously, he never sells anything...
But this is a bit extreme... 1994 brand new Katana 750 (0 miles, never titled): SUZUKI KATANA MOTOCICLETA SUZUKI GSX750F (KATANA) 1994-Autos, Motos y Náutica-Motocicletas-Distrito Federal-ALVARO OBREGON - 4228463 - segundamano.com.mx Asking price: $5,600 USD LOL! 1994 brand new Yamaha FZR 1000 (0 miles, never titled): MercadoLibre: YAMAHA FZR 1000 AÑO 1994 NUEVA ! SIN RODAR ! - $ 96900.00 Asking price: $7,750 USD 1994 brand new Katana 600, same story: MercadoLibre: SUZUKI GSX600F ( KATANA ) 600 AÑO 1994 - $ 62900.00 Asking price: $5,050 USD 1993 brand new Suzuki DR350: MercadoLibre: MOTOCICLETA MARCA SUZUKI ENDURO DR-350SP - $ 51900.00 Asking $4,150 USD 2000 Yamaha Majesty 250: MercadoLibre: YAMAHA MOTONETA MAJESTY 250 AÑO 2000 - $ 67900.00 I might go and check out what else I can find there, as I hadn't seen that the had the DR350 nor the Majesty 250, so who knows what else he might have in there. But can you imagine riding that brand new FZR1000 out of there? I think that once you get to highway speeds the 16 year old tyres might disintegrate, and you won't be able to stop as the brake hose will break.

Where would he be able to get a brand new 1994 bike? I bet the odometers have all been rolled. Highly doubtful they are actually new.

I've been watching those bikes for the last 5 years, found them when I was looking to buy my Katana 750. He has dropped the price a couple hundred dollars in the last 5 years, so maybe in another 16 years they might be a good buy. The guy is out of his mind, plain and simple (rich kid, everything was handed to him on a silver plate, doesn't understand the real value of money). For example, he also has a used, 20,000 miles, 2005 CBR 1000 for sale (previous generation, prior to the facelift), he is asking $2,000 over the street value of a 2008 (current gen) CBR 1000. He also had his own brand of chinese motorcycles, that flopped quite quickly, and still has leftover bikes from that...

Oh good grief! He's not much of a businessman, to say the least!

Doesnt surprise me, somewhat related I was looking at then a new 95 suzuki 600rf, it was 99 still sittng on the showroom floor, still wanting MSRP which was something like 5500, Im look man, I will not give you that for a bike that sold for that three years he wouldnt budge, it sat for another two years before some kid finally bought it for the original MSRP. go figure.

I actually went there today...
He doesn't have 1 1994 Katana 750, he has 2, TWO, of them. Oh, and there are also TWO Katanas 600, one 1994 (the one on the link) and a 1995. (And God, the paint schemes in the 90s were ghastly, how could we like them? I think the 80s bikes had better paint...) All of them have scratches from being packed in that place, it's full of motorcycles, you can't fit another one in there, and it's a big store. It seems that he just keeps buying bikes, but he is unable to sell any of them (due to the ridiculous prices). The "kid" is in his late 40s now...

Sad thing is, if he waits long enough they will be classics and probably worth it lol.
