I'm a big fan of the tiered licensing system as well. Of course, insurance companies would figure out a way to rape it.

If you're the parent, drill it into them. Talk about safety, responsibility, maturity, maybe even death. I think that's the best way. I learn mine by meself and it isn't exactly the best way to learn. I now have carpal tunnel and tennis elbow (okay, it isn't all the bikes fault! So I like women, go figure?) from numerous wrecks over the course of many, many moons. If my parents had instilled in me a sense of proprietary responsibility (and mine would NEVER do that except for major GUILT!) I might have turned out a wee bit differently (for the better I might add!). My humble two bits.......

When I was young there were not sportbikes as we know today.........but my Kawasaki Spectre 1100 was bad ass and the gurls had to hang on tight....

I was an idiot back then and if I had not been I wouda been now....least then I heeled faster......

its the law of the land....if deer were let to live they would over populate and get illnesses .....same as idiots on bike.....gotta have a weed out in place....

so when you go to the bike shop to get a oil filter cause you take care of yur bike and see that teenager punk...with his GF with him as he acts like he knows more then man on the moon.......laff to yurself and when ya go by say....

"I'd get the big one man"......lol
