Another facet to this is Primedia, the parent company. They are in business to make money for their shareholders. The scale of the corporation helps keep publishing costs down for a Motorcyclist magazine to continue publishing. In return they expect Motorcyclist to make them money for said shareholders. If not, bye bye. It has happened with several publications in the recent past and will continue in the future.
What's the answer? I don't know. I hate the P-C bullshit as much as anyone. It's hard to fight the economics though and retain your absolute independence. |

I've been slowly starting to hate this publication and it's editors, and catterson has always looked like a prick to me, funny how how that works. Cycle World will get my money from now on.
Did I mention how horribly biased they are? We know where that bias comes from, now don't we?

I think that's why I posted this. Of course I know nothing about any of the personalities involved but Catterson really seemed like a two face ass. He encouraged Ford to run with some stories but when he started getting heat he didn't stick up for his guy.
As for Snell, I can't believe they are going to cheapen their brand by continuing to run the 05 certification alongside the new 10 certification - especially when there are some heavy hitters who think the earlier certification is flawed. Snell should stand for the best. They should have reworked their testing process right away when it looked like there might be problem with the old standard. The fact they didn't is why Ford kept going after them. He was being a good investigative journalist and he knew he had them, so why let up? |
