Default plans for the upcoming riding season

it looks like spring is finally going to come after all and i'm thinking of getting the bike out this weekend. i know we have a bunch of year rounders, but i figure everyone else is getting ready to start riding to.

whats everyone have planned for this year?

i'd like to do a few road trips this year, hopefully bring a friend or two along this year. i'd love to go back to the Dragon, had a blast last there last April. i'm also thinking about doing a weekend trip to the grand canyon of Pennsylvania.
i've also been considering just getting lost for a few days in WV, just a ton of great roads there to explore

Mainly ride very day, just like the rest of the seasons.

I do plan to ride up for the MotoGP at Laguna Seca again, camp onsite and enjoy the races. Maybe the AMA support races won't be as bad a clusterf**k this year.

Don't have other specific journeys planned. There's some sort of big bike show thingie happening in San Jose at the end of March; I might ride up for that.

It's warming up here, not enough yet to ride properly, but some are still trying with not so pleasant results:

A 21-year-old Green Bay man was killed this morning when he lost control of his motorcycle and hit a parked vehicle in the 2100 block of Preble Avenue on Green Bay’s east side.

Police and rescuers responded about 9:50 a.m. and found the motorcyclist fatally injured. He was wearing a helmet.

Additional information:

Police said his black Honda motorcycle was eastbound on Preble, went out of control and struck a gray GMC Yukon that was legally parked on the south side of the roadway.

The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of relatives.

The parked vehicle was unoccupied. It is unknown why or how the motorcycle operator lost control.

This crash remains under investigation. The roadway was closed for more than two hours.

The ground is still frozen, frost and ice patches remain on the roads well into the late morning. Hell of a price to pay for being a bit too anxious.

My "goals" are:

- New bike
- Ride at least 15000 miles
- Do alot more day-trips
- Do some overnight backpacking/camping weekend trips
- At least 1 trackday

Should be a fun year.

Oh, and convince my pops to buy a HM/SM this year and not wait till next year (or heaven forbid even later!)

He's becoming more and more of a fan of the Duc 796. I'm still kind of pushing for a KTM 990 though!

I have the Memorial Day trip to GA, hopefully a trip out to AR in October, and more long distance day trips in FL throughout the year.

My bro-in-law has been talking about riding to Cedar Key for a 2 day 1 night thing. I am going to try to make that happen too.

Going to try not to do any track days this year.
