![]() My wifes partner has one, he is out of town and we went to make sure the cat is okay and I checked out the bike while there. It looks mint, 4,700 miles different grips (not my liking but could trade for stockers easier enough I'm sure), Chrome drop bars, chrome softbag bracket. I'm unsure of the year but the 1995 was the color of it (and I know they did various colors yearly)...it also said Intruder 800 which they dropped using in 2005, so its at least an 2004 or older. I know how they ride, my best friend had a Intruder VS700 that I used on a 3,000 mile road trip around CA once. I liked it, the cons were the small gas tank but that just made planing gas stops that much funner. But I know that downside so no surprise there. Its a cruiser but its the only cruiser I would own, as I like how skinny it is thats a plus, I like the shaft drive also, little to no maintenance, tires last awhile on these things although I probably put new good sticky rubber on it for piece of mind and new tubes plus a new battery unless he did that already. MCN only goes back to 1996 now, but if it is indeed a 1995 (I'll find out when he comes back) it will not be much money. A 1996 in the Used Bike guide is $1,425....which is pretty dead on most of the time. I checked Craigslist a guy with no picture claims low miles for a 1998 is asking $2,100...so lets assume he gets talked down $300 thats $1,800 where I could see it being worth that assuming good condition. I'm willing to do $1,500 easy...but might go higher because its a Co-worker and I know the bike is mint and I know they keep on running a bullet proof design. So maybe $2,000. I used to be a member at Intruder Alert...yep see I once looked at buying a new one before I decided on the FZ1. I've always wanted one, the cruiser dude in me...I can break out the cruiser jacket with the zippers....LOL But I think it be a good bike for me to commute around on, and when the wife wants to go to the mountains we both ride two up like the old days...cheap on gas, I probably just do liability on it as its too cheap to worry about. He is thinking of selling it, it was for his wife who says its too heavy for her *shrug* Its one of the lightest cruisers there is besides a Rebel. So what do you all think? Possible a good buy? Certainly seems so.
You're certainly familiar with the bike / lineup and like it so I'd say do it!

Well first things first, got to find out the year and what Jim wants for it. He might be delusional and wants $3K or something silly. Bad part is he don't have to sell it...but that might be good too because to him its taking up garage space and he has toys like ATV's, his bike, and a bunch of things. |

Cruisers. The only cruisers I rode were the Kawasaki 454LTD and a Honda VTX1300. I Loved the 454, the VTX, not so much.
As for your Suzuki above? Get her a Kawasaki Z750 or Z1000 or a ZR7. Don't waste money on that Suzuki. Even a Honda 919 or 599. Then again, coming from me, it comes as no surprise to recommend something from Kawasaki. |

I like it and it sounds like a good price. I will have a cruiser in my stable when I am finally financially sound. I'm thinking more like a 80's kz1000 or kz900 though.
