Default A New Rider On The Road Today
So, my brother finally went and got his permit and we took him on the road today. It was the "main" road if you want to call it that. It was at my parents house and they live way out in the sticks where you are lucky to see 1 car every hour. After him stalling about a dozen times, he got used to it and did great. Too bad we had to teach him on my dad's hardley.

My little brother keeps telling everyone he plans on getting a motorcycle, but he's 18 in under two months and still hasn't gotten his learner's permit for cars.

I don't think it is important at all to know how to drive before learning to ride. The operational skills of the vehicle are completely different. And the roadcraft skills are learnable on either. If I was King, I'd make everyone that was physically capable spend a year on a bike before being allowed to operate a car. Maybe they'd learn to pay attention on the road better.
