There's good roads all over Ky.
Just yesterday I rode the " Hillbilly Triangle".
Thanks for reminding me how lucky I am.

Yes, Meanie, it's a red dot. I like it, but I need to remember to turn it off. I killed a battery b/c I forgot to turn it off when we were finished on Friday. Had to go all the way to Tompkinsville to get another one.

We spent a good while sighting that scope. The guy at the gun shop who mounted it for me said he sighted it, but he apparently didn't try very hard. It took 1/4 horizontal and a complete rotation vertical just to get it on the paper. (And yes, I know it wasn't me b/c with the SKS I was right on target )

We did paper targets to set up the scope and play around a bit, and also put a few bottles on the stalks of sturdy weeds to shoot at.

Have not milked a cow in years, and yea, its not as easy as it looks.

No, it wasn't pasteurized. At least not what I had. They literally went out each day and got what they needed, and whatever was left over from the day before got set aside to make cheese of various kinds out of. Though the calf is drinking a lot of it right now, so not much left for people. They were talking about taking her away from momma so they could get more milk.

They do have a fridge designed to run on solar power, so there is somewhere cool to keep perishables.

It was anything but quiet out there. Though it wasn't nearly as noisy as where I grew up. We had a pond across the street from our house in MI, and my bedroom faced it. In the summertime you couldn't hear yourself think over the frogs, crickets, nightbirds and who knows what else.

This place wasn't quite as bad since there wasn't a pond nearby, but it was still pretty loud. And then in the morning, barely light out at all, the roosters would start in, and then the guineas. GOOD LORD those things are LOUD. I've never heard anything like it. They are more annoying than half a dozen car alarms going off at once!

Thanks, I think I like it there. We are actually looking at property for sale near where we stayed. It would be a lot of work to clear it, and we'd have a contractor build the house. The house in the pics above was built by Scott's dad (it's his place), Scott and his brothers, and the Amish. But there is so much yet to do. If we move up there, we aren't dealing with that bs.

Yeah, you are. Except for the debris in the road. And coming up on the Amish in a blind corner.

Try this for a red dot. Up to 80k hours ontime from 1 AA battery. I am lusting for it on my AR.

Aimpoint : AimpointŪ CompM4 and CompM4s#464

Unfortunately, it costs more than I paid for my AR.

You are not helping. I am trying to stop spending money for a while.

On SR100 just north of Burksville Ky. there is a mountain that's as good as any road you will ride anywhere.
All around Dale Hollow Lake is good.
Southern Ky. is truly some great riding.
