Age: 34
Year bought first street bike: 2008
Miles: 7000
Previous bikes: 95 FZR600
Current bike: 2002 F4i
No Track days yet, scheduled for Nov.

Certifications/Classes Etc: Tx motorcycle endorsement, MSF: BRC, ERC, and Lee Parks ARC

General Experience: I Rode a dirt bike several times in High school and got hooked, but did not get a chance to get back on a bike till Summer 08 when gas prices persuaded me. I commute everyday to work and have ridden in rain, thick fog, temps from down in the low 30's to 105+ heat. I love to wrench on my own vehicles. I bought the FZR having been sitting for 3 years and had to rebuild the carbs to get it running.

So Binkie what type of racing you wanting to try? Sprint/endurance,etc? The only reason I ask is that in my case starting with WERA/AMA endurance events you get SO much more track time with every dollar spent. My first year doing that I found myself running events with Scott Russell and Kevin Rentzell at many tracks before SR made the big time lol. Also have a story about that at Roebling Road during an endurance race that I will save for another time

i think endurance racing would be more fun, but i dont think there is anything like that around here, if i am only able to do 1 race in my life i would love to do the daytona 200.

Yeah that is going to be hard to do without a LOT of well other stuff but yeah that would be awesome. I have been out of racing since the early 90's BUT I was fortunate enough to run AMA endurance races at both Daytona and twice at Talledega in my life. Unless you have rode on both it is truley amazing how much bigger Talley is than Daytona, hell if i remember correctly Daytona and the seating would fit inside of TIS lol. The back straight at Tally was unreal, on my last race there in 88 on a 86 GSXR 1100,endurance bike, mostly stock because of class I got clocked at 162 lol(my R6 now is right there lol) but coming out of turn 2 and throttle pinned it felt like 55 mph on the freeway that back straight was so wide. Oh how much I wished I knew then what I know now how lucky I was, damnit!

Name: Rich

First bike: Asian 80cc mini (think CT70)
First street bike: '73 Suzuki TC125
followed by: '75 Suzuki TS185
'78 RM125 (the start of my off-road days and 20+ year hiatus)
'94 F2 (approx 30k miles)
'02 F4i (30k and counting...)

Got my first bike in my senior year of high school, much to the dismay of my mom. Rode for over a year with just a permit. Eventually got my license because it was becoming too much of a bother taking my buddy's KZ1000 home from the bars at night with my permit.

Took 20+ years off of bikes while I raced offroad (and did a stint in the Air Force).

Got back into street riding when it looked like I was going to get divorced in '98...what the hell did I wait so long for?

MSF grad and attendee of the CSS in '04.

First Street Bike: 2010

Bikes:
#1 2000 CBR600F4, I thought I was a special snowflake, luckily never dropped in and got in with the right people to learn how to ride it properly
#2 2009 FZ6, great bike, touring, sporty riding, whatever you want it is by far my favorite bike I've ever ridden
#3 2002 Ninja 250, track duty, fun little devil

Certs: M/C endorsement in TX

MSF Graduate (TX)
Track day junkie
Slight bit of stunting

General: Started riding because I wanted to, now working on getting my race license which will inevitably lead to no more street riding (or not as much at least) and only track time

Current hits from the trackpipe: 3, 4&5 coming up very soon, plan on having 13 by this time next year, and my race license (October 2011)

Runs on the Dragon: 0

Number of Asphalt sandwiches: 2, one at 27mph in a parking lot, the other on a track at about 8mph
