New PC

Well I ordered a new PC and got it the other day. Decided to skip building one this time (I tend to add on when I build and the price was like $2,500 when said and done). So I picked up a Lenovo 2nd Gen I7 3.4Ghz with 12GB of 13333Mhz ram, 1.5Tb HDD, Video Card is 1GB I think. The PC was $899 so pretty cheap, well compared to what I was looking to do. Also ordered a 24" Viewsonic monitor which should be here today, and a Laser printer.

Yep, nice to have some speed now...

What sucks is getting everything on here that I had on the old PC in terms of software. Well downloading and loading newer versions of things like Photoshop, and Nero.

I really like the case design of the Lenovo, this is pretty much what it looks like:



I ordered from TigerDirect as far as the PC and Monitor (not sure where the wife got the printer as it was a slick deal). I got to say TigerDirect is quick on the shipping.

That's the worst thing about getting a new computer .. transferring the software, or rather, reinstalling it.

Or sites that remember your passwords and you have no clue because it was an oddball site that wanted you to use a capital letter, a number and 8 letters long...LOL Worst one insisted I use a character like !@@#$%^&& I mean really!!!

I'm just waiting on the monitor today and the laser printer...I hate waiting.

Ont he upside I will not need to do this again for another 7 years, our child be 6 years old...LOL

I know what you mean! Or when you have one that includes a !@#$%^&*() and then they tell you that you can't use them?! WTF? Those make me safer.

I hear you...I loaded Quake 4...got that when it came out and was unable to play it in the high setting so I lost interest. Now it runs smooth and fast with everything set to HIGH...LOL

I got the 24" monitor yesterday, WOW...yep I could watch TV now on the PC....LOL

Yep, I was leaning toward building my own because I first was looking at Dell but hated the look of their cases. When I saw Lenovo I was like okay I like that case....and its metal, not shinny plastic.
