Default BIKE TRIP (couches to crash on?)

OK, the ride is on. I'm leaving San Diego on the morning of Sunday 02Oct, and spending 07-10Oct camping at the Barber Raceway for the vintage races and DucStock, then up to NH on the 11th and 12th, and back to work.

If anyone has a couch to crash on Sun night 02Oct, or campground recommendations, around Tucson, AZ (ideally, although Phoenix or Tempe could do), that would be grand.

Likewise for anywhere in or near Carlsbad, NM the next night.

Thanks,
PhilB

You will love the Barber Museum. Expect to spent 4-5 hours minimum.

The only place I know in Carlsbad, NM are RV parks. If you do make it to Carlsbad, the Carlsbad Caverns are worth checking out.

Yes, that's why I'm stopping there. I haven't been to those since I was about 8.

I am about 1.5 hours north of Birmingham, Al, so not sure if doable.

While there, I'm camping at the track, so that's mostly covered. It might be helpful on the night after the races -- 10Oct -- to ride north a little ways like that, and make the next day's ride (up to WV) a bit shorter. That would be great, if that's cool with you.

Other than that, I've got places planned for all the stops except the first two -- Tucson AZ and Carlsbad NM.

Thanks.

That would be nice, but no, just 11 days out. Still that's a lot better than last year when I only had 4 days to ride from San Diego to Cleveland.
