91 miles away in Crystal River. I've seen that one from a distance many times when we ride over there, didn't realize it was a nuke plant though.

There are 5 total within 300 miles of me.

Pretty much they are all east of us except a few in CA...about 500 miles east that is.

Except they are planning to build one 50 miles to the south in Pueblo, CO...of course now with Japan the nuts are out acting like it will blow up...LOL

Two approx 40 miles away. I'd rather see another built than the wind farms they are trying to push down our throats. There is a wind farm about 20 miles south of here, just completely destroys the view which is primarily why I love living so far out of town.

The safety history of nuclear energy, especially in the US, is very good. From what I've read, the biggest failure in Japan was not having something as simple as a diesel generator for backup in case of total power failure like they saw in the recent quake/tsunami.
