REMINDER..... all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies and you will start to receive sales calls.

To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone: 888-382-1222.
It is the National DO NOT CALL list It will only take a minute of your time.. It blocks your number for five (5) years. You must call from the cell phone number you want to have blocked. You cannot call from a different phone number.

HELP OTHERS BY PASSING THIS ON .. It takes about 20 seconds.

This is ancient. Who still has a phone where you get charged for receiving calls? I'm not even that primitive.

You get "charged" minutes whether it's an incoming or outgoing call...and once you reach what you've paid for, then you get charged by the minute. So that would be me...I do.

We get charged after a certain number of minutes as well

How much can you use your phone? We got the smallest family plan we possibly could, I think it's 700 minutes a month for three people, one of whom is a teenage girl, and we're maxed out on rollover minutes, something like 3000. Before we adopted the kid, when I had a plan that cost $5 a month for 40 minutes a month, yeah, it might have mattered.

Don't get me wrong, I hate being spammed on my cellphone, just like I hate being bombarded with advertising and telemarketers and all the rest anywhere else. But I'm even less trustful of putting my phone number on a big list that all the spammers will see, supposedly to not call. But you know that list will be saved everywhere and become a goldmine of data itself. And the first people to sell it to overseas tele-spammers, who will be out of reach of the punishment and won't give a damn about the list's purpose, well there you go.

Our plan has something like that, maybe a little less. We've never gone over but if we do then we're charged

I never use more than a 100 minutes a month however if you have a family plan and come close to the limit often then those calls could very well push you over the limits.
