Memorial Day Feast
OK...Post 'em up! Let's see those Memorial Day feasts from your BBQ, cookout, family reunion or Where your holiday led you.
We joined with some friends and had a country boil. We fired up the cookers, threw in some cotton bags full of secret herbs and spices for flavor and started with the potatoes. After letting the taters boil for about 20 minutes, we added the corn on the cob and the cajun sausage. when those were done we threw in the shrimp and shut off the gas and put the lids on. To serve it was simple, put butcher paper on the tables and throw the mix down. Then it is time to stand around and eat, drink and be merry!

Memorial Day is not a day for feasting, gluttony and revelry. Memorial Day is a time for quiet remembrance of those we've lost.
Save that for an appropriate day, like Independence Day. |

OK, so my service doesn't count? So I guess I will also pass your lecture on to the 6 other vets who were there going all the way back from Korea up to XracerX who received purple heart with cluster when he got IED'd in Iraq and then again in Afghanistan. We had 2 Air Force, 2 Army 1 Navy and 1 Marine.

I shot guns....dug trenches.....set boobie twaps....then later we caged a neighbor in a bambo cage and threw dung at him...
we starved the whole day.....and set off red smoke to warn the huey's of a hot L Z.........then later we laff'd at Jimmy,a fwiend of ours,who stepped perfectly on my sharp stick I had pre-truding the ground near a nearby plate of cash...(a perfect trap) we never once thought of cosuming food.....what is with you people!!
