[quote=bumblebee;41195]Gold, because it is a scarce resource has been revered since the times of the egyptians.
But you are correct, and I have previously stated before in numerous threads, lead, powder and brass...ammo...will be just as valuable as gold in the future. Quote:
As for repelling people, one problem with a silenced weapon (which is nearly what a .22 is) it loses its "bang" and fear factor when it goes off, it was a hard lesson learned by SOG troops in nam, check out plasters book, good read, many other references to it. a quite gun certainly has its advantages, but creeping around like super ninja is not going to be what you think it is, distance=chance of error in those shooting at you and chance for escape. I take game every year with .22. I am very good with one, but you are correct, you must get close to be effective...just like with my bow
One of the advantages of an almost silenced weapon Vs the boom and bang of large bore is concealment and effect. I am of the school that watching/hearing your comrades go down while frantically searching for where the fire is coming from creates a certain amount of fear of it's own. Also, well placed hits can take 3 with one...two carry one out. I guess there are many schools of tactics to follow, and each has to choose their own. But I would rather be hustling through terrain with my five pound .22 and a couple of hundred rounds of ammo versus the 9 to 11 pounds my LR 308 or my M1 weigh with a single full mag, let alone carrying round several mags.

My top picks this week for January 2010 option close.
ZLC Zales Jewelry Currently trading at $2.90 Option ZLCMZ @ 2.50 trading at $0.30 3 contracts, 10% profit, 28% downside protection Next earnings release is in late February. Seems like a good pick, as it's the holidays and the overall economy is gaining steam. The charts reflect an upswing. --- DRYS Dryships Inc. Currently trading at $6.77 Option OOCMF @ 6 trading at $0.33 2 contracts, 4.5% profit, 18% downside Next earnings in March. Charts reflect a bottom, should start raising up - company just bought a couple new ships and appointed a new CFO recently. --- KERX Keryx Biopharm Currently trading at $2.77 Option QKYMZ @ 2.5 trading at $0.25 3 contracts, 8.4% profit, 21% downside Chart is relatively flat, appears to be turning upwards. They're trialing a new drug for Myeloma with favorable results. Don't see any approvals from FDA on the horizon yet. Next earnings report isn't until March. --- Borderline: BZH Beazer Homes Seems to have bottomed out on its line of support, but the good news is just starting to come out about home builders. Sentiment could change for the worse quickly. Edit: BZH also looks like its line of support is right around $4-5. If you don't mind owning this one while homes start picking up again, it should be good. But the chart looks like it likes to dip right back around the strike price at the end of the last few months. --- What I'm staying away from: YRCW YRC Transportation/Trucking Even though this is massively profitable (40%+), it's extremely risky right now. Detailed why previously in the thread. AMD Microprocessors This is at the top of its upswing. Expecting this to drop like a rock in the next month and a half. Doesn't seem like very many contracts above, because I'm still eating my way out of a couple positions - so I have quite a few grand tied up in those right now. Also have to wait on the positions I have from December to close out on Friday to see where I'm at. This week has been really volatile.

anything jewelry and makeup right now is a great investment, historically, during times of "poverty" jewelry and makeup will do well as women want to attract a mate
Any clothing of bright color, especially red.
