November is National Novella Writing Month.

The goal: 50,000 words in 30 days. Although it's 50,000 words, the goal should always be quality, because practice does not make perfect: perfect practice makes perfect.

As you know, I'm in for it. Went to a workshop this evening on developing characters. Hopefully going to finally get my novel off the ground; it's been stagnating for about 4 years.

In case anyone else is interested, there's an organization, with resources and write-ins and meetups and encouragement, etc. It's at www.nanowrimo.org

No, this is a real thing (although until I spoke with Phil I didn't know it was an official thing).

No, just a bunch of us local participants. I did get a couple things out of it that I think will be useful, though.

Thats where I'm struggling too. Dialogue is even worse
