From one extreme to another.

How about we start prosecuting all those over zealous prosecutors?

They defiantly deserve compensation for sure, the trouble is this merely starts a whole new list of problems, people being locked up for 20 years who probably never had a job to begin with, do not understand money management on any level, will be broke within a year, then probably will be turning to crime again, (sorry most of these people are dead beats who are criminals and merely got nailed on the wrong one this time around)

Maybe. But they still have been wronged and should be compensated. If they are actually criminals and/or turn to crime, then they should be properly caught and prosecuted. "Well, he's probably guilty of something else" is NOT a principle we want our justice system to be using.

Also, having some consequences to the state for that sort of behavior should discourage it a bit. Hit 'em in the budget, and they wake up a little bit.
