Worst storm I've ever been in was when I lived in SE Texas. Luckily is was in the car. It was raining so hard you couldnt even see the hood. The lightning was flashing so much, you would only see "flashes" of darkness (it was a night storm). I found out the next day that a tornado was tearing up the trees about a mile or two behind me.
I hate that, wipers going as fast as they can and they can not keep up and it gets like that in southeast Texas at times.. That's a been there done that for sure.

How about this...Once upon a time in a far away land. I was out riding my SV when suddenly out of no where a Hurricane came up. It took all I had to keep the bike from blowing over. The rain was hitting my leathers so hard, it left welts on my skin. I did make it home but had to avoid several downed trees, power lines, and the occasional mailbox. Now give me my points Greenie!!!

Last month the wife was making enchilada's fer dinner (mmmmmmmm) when she realized she was short a can of sauce, so I volunteer to hop on the scooter and go get a can (any excuse to go for a ride is ok with me). Well just before leaving the house I spies a storm off into the distance and thought aw hell I can make it, then thought maybe I should get my other jacket (the waterproof one), and dismissed that with another aw hell I can make it. Sooooooo walking out the store I see a few drops fall, and thought "oh shit I'd better hurry". 1 block later she cut loose it was so loud on the lid I couldn't hear the bike, when I looked down at the speedo I was doing 35 in a 25. It was coming down so hard the water used my gas tank as a convenient ramp to soak my crotch, water was running down my sleeves into my gloves. I got wet in places a guy shouldn't without swimming or bath. Oh and the wife was pissed (guess she was a little worried) (prolly about the sauce)

My scariest one was not so much a storm as heavy fog, in early 1993.

I had ridden one of my old scooters to Los Angeles, and was puttering home along the Coast Highway. As I passed a huge oil refinery in Long Beach, there was a large explosion; a tank had blownup. It was literally deafening; the shock wave nearly knocked me off the bike, and did break the window in the pickup ahead of me. The security and then the cops came, and evacuated everyone, and fire and cleanup crews did their thing, etc. After a couple hours, they let us retrieve our vehicles and be on our way. But the Coast Highway was now closed, so I had to go to the main freeway.

I got to Camp Pendleton, which is a Marine base that I-5 runs through for about 20 miles, about 11pm, and it was severely fogged in. So there I am, on the freeway, in heavy fog, still deaf from the explosion, on a slow scooter, with a tiny little 6v taillight, and there is no place to get off the freeway for 20 miles. Can't see, can't hear, can't be seen, and can't get out of the way. Scared the hell out of me. But fortunately no one came up and ran me over.
