I *finally* got the RROD on my 360

RIP 2005-2009. Mine outlasted every one of my close friends' machines, and I probably put the most hours on mine because of Rock Band, R6V and L4D.

Standing there, dejected last night, I called Costco this morning to see if I could return it.

"Yes sir, just bring the following [names off the pieces I had to bring]."

Me: "Really? Can I just get a new one?"

"Sure, we have plenty of the Holiday bundles."

So I run over to Costco on my lunch break expecting a hassle. Not a single question about it, they just looked up my 4 year old receipt and asked me what I wanted to do.

Me: "Uhh, what do you mean?"

"You can either go grab another one, or we can just give you Cotsco Cash for it."

Me: "Costco Cash is fine, maybe I'll pay a little bit and get a PS3."

So she finishes up my transaction and hands me my gift card and receipt.

$503.88

Me: I didn't remember paying that much for it, but I guess it was back then.

Got the dreaded red ring too, called Microsoft, they said the warranty was extended, sent in the console, got it back in less than two weeks, good as new.

Yeah, they extended it to 3 years. I think mine was out of warranty, but I sure like having the option of just going back to Costco 4 years later and getting a new one.

That's a good return policy for a consumer.

I'm undecided whether to get a new one or not. Gimp can tell ya - I'm hardly on the 360 anymore. Only reason I want PS3 is really because of Blu-Ray... but Costco has a couple players for right around $200 now.

My 360 was in warranty (the extended warranty) for about another 21 days, but it is great to hear about Costco, sure will consider going there in the future. I had bought the 360 from Circuit City, so you know how that would turn out now

The receipt probably had some games or controllers on it. I bought mine with two games and an extra controller for about 530 I believe

Oh, and by the way, I may have taken you off of my friends list. I got mad one night and took everyone that doesn't play "Red Faction Guerrilla" off the list. I was tired of signing on and seeing "You have 5.2 trillion friends online" and thinking "Sweet!! We can get some badass 'RFG' matches going." Then I'd look, and it would be everyone that WASN'T every playing "Red Faction." So I deleted everyone...right after I did it, I was like "Why did I just do that???"

I have a 360 that has less than 20 total hrs (more like 15) on it that I will let go for 200.00 local and 215 shipped. Just sayin. Also comes with a HDMI cable and 1 controler.
