Thumbs up MotoGP round 6 Silverstone 06/12/11 *SPOILERS*

So, let's see.....

--Pedrosa will miss this race due to recent surgery
--Stoner is still the favorite to win this race and the championship
--Lorenzo will do well
--Spies showed up last race, hopefully that will carry over
--Rossi is still struggling, and trying to get by Dovi every race
--Simoncelli was on his best behavior and qualified well, only to look weak during last race
--Hayden proves every race he will never be a contender in GP again

Did I miss anything?

I bet if you put Hayden on a honda he would pull regular top 5 finishes.

It's time to stop making excuses for Nicky, because Stoner did fine on the Duc, and Rossi is doing fine on the Duc...

I'm a Hayden fan, but he's a top 10 rider in GP, nothing more, nothing less...He's the new Colin Edwards...

I am not making an excuse. He still would not be a top contender. He would always be behind the aliens. But I believe rather than an occsional top five finish, he would pull consistent top fives and an ocasional podium. And I am not really a Hayden fan. I didn't start watching MotoGP until last year. So for me, he has always been irrelevant.

But it is also worth noting that the aliens do fine of the Duc. They compete for the title on Honda's and Yamaha's. So it only stands to reason that a top 10 rider on the Duc would be more like a top five rider on the Honda's and Yamaha's.

Come on. Everyone should know by now that Rossi sandbags in practice; he never pushes it hard in especially the first practice. Hayden is only 1 second off the pace in this practice, so we know Rossi's time on this one means nothing.

He is, and has been for quite a while, a top contender in Group 2. Group 1 is "the aliens" -- Rossi, Pedrosa, Stoner, Lorenzo. Group 2 last year was Hayden, Dovisioso, and Spies. This year it's those plus Simoncelli.

If Hayden was on a Honda, he still wouldn't be in Group 1; he would be a stronger contender for 5th (or 4th for as long as Pedrosa is out), with an occasional podium, especially in the wet. Hayden's experience on the Duc is serving him pretty well now, in that Rossi is still working to get the hang of that bike, and for now Hayden's times are competitive with Rossi, putting him in good contention for 3rds.
