Well, round 1 brought quite a few surprises, huh?...
--Who would've ever thought Carlos Checa would blaze to a double win in the opening races??
--Biaggi is clearly still smoking fast, and poised to repeat
--Rea disappointed
--Melandri even scored a podium

Who lost the wheel in race 1? That was strange, looked like it broke off at the spokes. That could've ended really bad.

Too bad for Sykes, I was hoping to see him on the podium in race 1.

...yeah, he tossed it. Good to see though. I think the Kawi's will be competitive this year.

The rear wheel incident was Berger. The spokes broke off of the hub! Yeow!! There's a video (check Superbike Planet) with Fogarty chuckling and saying that was hilarious. I guess as things turned out you could say that, not sure Berger would have the same opinion. Damn, he landed hard on his ass!
