IIRC, Superbike only has 3 or 4 riders under contract at this time. KWS is still planning on racing the RSV4, but they still don't have the finances for the whole year. The announcement by DMG is only making matters worse. Then again, 18 months ago, they said they did not intend on having a Superbike class.

Several privateers have openly stated they will not be racing with AMA in the near future. Everything they are doing lately is making it harder and harder for the privateer to make a go of it in this economy.

Also, DMG has contacted teams and told them to make tentative plans for Laguna during the GP weekend. This has come with little joy, as now they will have to go cross-country the week after Mid-Ohio to one of the most expensive venues.

Look on the bright side, after Edmondson and the folks at DMG collapse the economic environment at AMA road racing in the US, they will qualify for jobs in the Obama administration
