They didn't really say why? I haven't been following the stories. Whats up with Honda?

Honda pulls out of AMA Pro superbike racing
American Honda announces that they are pulling out of the AMA Pro American Superbike series From an American Honda press release: Looks like Neil Hodgson will be looking for a ride other than Corona Honda, as Honda announced that it is pulling the plug on any superbike racing support for the foreseeable future. During the 2009 AMA/DMG Road Racing series, American Honda Motor Company, Inc. contracted team personnel, including team Honda rider Neil Hodgson, to the Corona Extra Honda race team. Corona Extra Honda race team participated in this series with our award-winning 2009 CBR1000RR in the AMA Superbike class, unfortunately participation in this series did not meet our racing goals and objectives. Regrettably the current AMA/DMG racing environment does not align with our company goals. Effective today 9/18/09, AHM will not be renewing contracts with Corona Extra Racing and will be terminating the on-site Road Race operations by 9/30/09. All assets will be put into storage for future consideration. Team staff was informed of these changes today at 1:00PM PDT. |

Could their goals and objectives be a tad high or was that a nice way to say something a littlle darker?

My guess it was just a polite way of telling them that they do not have a clue what they are doing and yes they have high goals and objectives but then everyone does.

Honda has a history of getting really ripshit pissed when racing organizations change rules to artificially limit the teams. They did it with IRL in the not too distant past too, but I don't think they actually pulled out.

Are these changes fair to the overall racing circuit? There are always those who disagree over changes. Its human nature. Is Honda just butthurt since they can use some tactic or technique to give them the upper hand in a race? I'm not bashing Honda at all I'm just looking for a little education.

Sounds like they might be a little biased(sp). If that's the case then I'd probably leave too
