I love Mad Max, the 610. It's the schnitz.
Here it is with the blingin' hooptie van about to go out for a bit of playing on really crappy forest service roads. ![]() Beats me how it ever got plated, but I'm not complaining.

Looks like it gets the job done. I want to get us something not too nice but not ragged out either. Hopefully when we are ready we can find a couple.

It's Mad Max for a reason. There's nothing non-rat about it, but it goes like a rat with a burning tail. It spit most of it's exhaust about an hour after this picture was taken. I couldn't figure out what was rattling around or why it was so loud until we got back to the van. It didn't stop me from ripping up a bunch of rocky hills and through some whoops full of roots and then ripping through corners with potholes like the ones in the foreground at 50 or 60 mph. It also ended up with a blown fork seal, but the fun was worth the damage. The tires on it in this picture are some kind of motard/flattrack tires which were completely inappropriate for the ride, but challenges are good.

LOL I know and I was not saying it was but I have seen some pretty hammer dual sports over the years. The wife will want one too and I would rather not get something that's going to be unreliable.

It would be reliable... If I could ever get a new magneto for it. It's not a beat problem, it's an Italian paperwork trying to get through US customs when they are looking for lead or something problem. The rest of the bike could probably survive Armageddon. In fact, I'm pretty sure the four horsemen of the apocalypse have given up on horses and are riding bikes just like Mad Max now. Mad Max might actually be pestilence, truth be known. Best to ride pestilence than be overcome by it.
A friend rode his '06 610 down Baja from Seattle and back not too long ago with no problems. I'm not sure I'd buy a bike from him, knowing him, but if he didn't kill it in a ride from Seattle to the ends of Mexico and back, it's indestructible.

Nice yes it can be a problem getting parts in from overseas at times. Hopefully it will make it through quick so you can get mback to riding it.

If it was newer, it wouldn't be a problem. If I wasn't modifying it with a different magneto, it wouldn't be a problem. Hey, wait, does this mean I'm the problem???...???
