Okay kids, over the next few months Im going to be building a project bike. Im still really busy with work and school so the hours will be sporadic at best to have put into the project.
This is going to be a documentary of sorts, youll see me build this thing from the day I take it apart until the day its up and running. I will be using a lot of the side projects in this build to post "how to" threads so some of you will learn the ins and outs of several maintenance and customizing projects. I also plan to include several polls on some of my ideas. I will let you guys help me choose what avenue to go about but remember, Im the ultimate sayer in decisions. Im more going to use the folks here as a sounding board. There will be a discussion thread for this project so that I can keep this one locked and cleaned up.

Here is the bike Im starting out with, a 2001 Kawasaki Ninja 500.
![]() ![]() ![]() Why? Because its a bike that is easily available, small, cheaper and really needs a good work over. Besides, Kawasaki is shit canning it after this year. Someone needs to do something with these turds. I picked this bad boy up for 800 dollars out of AUSTIN TX. I spent another 200 having it brought back to me and thats about it. So for the total of 1000 dollars I got a 2001 Ninja 500 with literally 6200 miles on it. Thats a good deal really. The project total should cost me about 5 grand to build a one off custom. Not including my time of course. The build will keep a detailed account of how much every single part I buy costs me. This will give you the true costs parts wise to build your own project someday.

Now for a single picture of my fucking garage............I need a 3 day run of days off to clean it out, gut it and get things moving on this project.........probably not going to happen in the next two weeks.
![]() I will however get it straightened out and set up to work on bikes again. I moved into this house and just shoved shit in the garage...........bad idea but short on time. Now I have to double work everything to make it right.
