Looks like I'll need to. I don't have confidence right now that it would get me back to CA. And it's the bottom end I'm mainly concerned about, but those are durable and overdesigned, so there's no need for upgrades there; just inspection and bearing replacement, I'm thinking. The top end question has to do with the possibility that I may need that as well, so I have some idea of what to do if that is the case. If my top end is still good as is, I'll just keep it. I do think I need carbs. They were worn, and I had them rebuilt, but the results have not really been satisfactory.
